immunity
Too much of a good thing is a bad thing.
I find that the moment overkill sets in, novelty flies out the window and I no longer enjoy whatever it is as much as I did before. Take movies. There actually used to be great movies that I watched and remembered for always and now, I hardly find anything inspiring at all. Its an awful feeling being so jaded and immune to a beautiful craft. But you cant help it. And it gets worse if you try to cure it you end up feeling like a charitable anti-movie reviewer, trying to be as uncynical and forgiving as possible just to be able to find something redeeming about the movie to appreciate.
I used to hate movie critics because they were always so harsh and vindictive in their reviews and I hated their cynicism and disdain. But now, I understand why. With experience, comes worldliness. With worldliness comes immunity.
Its such a killjoy.
pink bonbons
I love my freshly painted toe nails. I have a favorite shade of nail polish clear with just a slight tinge of pink that adds a healthy, pretty glow to the nail. When theyve just been painted, they look just like little boiled sweets edible strawberry bonbons you dont often see nowadays. I live in mortal fear of this precious little bottle running out one day what shall I do then?!
Its really one of those things that you know you shouldve bought more of and you dont need anything else because youve got this one special polish thatll do just fine for any occasion. It saves me so much trouble ... I never have to go looking for other colors because this one's just right.
I have a point in this bimbotic tale and I am getting to it. Well, the point is, you only need one. If its the Right One.
Dang. That didn't make sense. Finefine -- I'll admit it :] there's no point at all. Just wanted to gush!
coke light
Coke light makes me bubble over.
I can't think how else to describe the corrosive effect it has on my throat and stomach. It hurts to swallow and my poor belly ends up gurgling indignantly at the poison I have consciously decided to ingest for Vanity's sake. In revenge, it breaks down the brown liquid gas into abrasive fizz that wrestles its way back up and out my nose and it is SERIOUS pain and I honestly don't know why the hell I'm still gulping it down by the canful.
The things I do to conserve calories!
my letterbox
I love receiving mail. Sometimes I wonder why I dont have a pen pal. Its so inconvenient having nobody to write to sometimes I just write silly little nonsensical little bits and pieces of notes to you and most times I dont hand them over because I dont think theyre anything much. But I dont throw them away because all the little bits of gibberish are all me and somehow thatd be like throwing me away. So I keep them in a little cardboard box which I wrapped in parcel paper and one day were going to read them together and laugh ... Well laugh at my silliness and childishness and those good old days when we were young :]
faradays law
Its very peculiar how physics laws apply themselves so aptly in relationships. Faradays law states that unless a force acts such as to create a change in magnetic flux (linking the coil), there will be no charge induced.
I couldnt have said it better myself.
handwriting
Its funny how without my realizing it, my handwriting has become all grown-uppish. I dont understand it still looks somewhat familiar. Somehow though, the subtle lines and curves and the steadiness of the script create the illusion of adulthood. Bother. All the same, it's no less illegible.
love letters
I love treasure chests. When I was younger I was always fascinated with goody boxes and Christmas stockings I guess the delight of finding hidden, elusive treasure kept me going.
I spent the weekend scrounging for songs for my jazz cd. I decided to compile all my favorites into one convenient disc after finally discovering how to work the darned burner :] What fun. The problem with jazz is that therere so many, many versions of the same song. And Ive just GOT to find the Right One. Occasionally, as with all other things, you come across something so wonderful it fills you with warmth and awe and leaves even your freezing toes tingly with the magnificence of it all. And you dont ever want to leave it.
Love Letters by Diana Krall is the very essence of Romance luxuriant, mellow, enchanting. Absolutely beautiful.
The sky may be starless
The night may be moonless
But deep in my heart theres a glow
For deep in my heart I know that you love me
You love me because you told me so
Love letters straight from your heart
Keep us so near while apart
Im not alone in the night
When I can have all the love you write
I memorize every line
I kiss the name that you sign
And darling then I read again right from the start
Love letters straight from your heart
ingrate
The ordeals over I did get the 6.
I feel strangely blas, as if it didnt really matter at all, couldnt possibly have turned out any other way. I think Ive wanted it so much so badly all along that it did seem a given that somehow Id get it eventually I couldnt not.
It seems like such a contradiction from the previous blog doesnt it. But honestly, now that Ive got it, it doesnt seem like anything much. Almost everybody else got it too. I think the suspense was so long drawn it died off long ago, thus the anti-climax.
I thought Id be happier. I dont know what I feel everythings so muted. Relief yes, but not much more I think. I somehow imagined more sparkle and vivacity.
Im such an ingrate.
stupid lola
Stupid Lola resides outside my bedroom and is the most irritating bunch of green feathers that ever had the privilege of screeching in this household. Honestly, in any other, it wouldve been boiled long ago.
The blinking dimwit never shuts up. It shrieks 24/7 at at least an E above middle C and almost never says anything intelligible apart from the occasional Hallo.
Well, screaming at it to shut the #*&$ up sometimes works, but only if you succeed in scaring it off its perch. Maybe then youll get a few seconds of respite as it grumbles and curses silently, clawing its way back up again. Then youre really in for it. Lolall screech her bleeding lungs out in revenge and youll end up deaf for a couple of hours which actually isnt a bad thing at least youll be spared a pounding headache from the ruckus.
Anyone for parrot pie?
