  ever after

I admit -- I am a sucker for happy endings and romantic comedies. For one who proudly declares her disdain for sappy nonsense, I suppose I am paradoxical.

Of course I don't stand for all that irksome cloying sweetness -- gimme some credit -- and I especially hate it when they start declaring their undying love. Yuck. I can't imagine any respectable male doing such fagotty nonsense. I think if anyone ever pulled a Romeo on me I'd just shrivel up and wither away in embarrassment on his behalf. Perhaps if I were feeling less obliging, I'd laugh in his face (don't worry, being a Permanent Singleton is Very Cool.) Bet all of you happy couples reading this are feeling sorry for my lack of enlightenment and the more indignant ones are probably cursing. Oh well to each his own I suppose. We don't all want diabetes now do we :]

What I really like, is humour. I'm not averse to romance or love, on the contrary, the whole idea of finding your match is very pretty I think. Thus, marrying love and humour, you end up with a romantic comedy! One of my favourite book/film genres. What I like best about them are the feisty females, manly men, happy endings and of course the bizarre, lavish proposals. It's sad how such excitement never happens in real life. We're all more or less condemned to the usual walk-along-the-beach or for the more adventurous, down-on-bended-knee-in-front-of-everybody declarations. How boring.

I think I got rather carried away actually. I just wanted to say how much I liked romantic comedies. They're fairly therapeutic and neutralise a little of all that morbidity.

To end, here's wishing all you blissful citizens of Coupledom a very happy ever after :]

  back from the dead

Ooh yes. I'm still alive. And today I shall resume blogging.
I've been 17 for a few weeks already and am loving every minute of it. Can't wait to be 18 -- LOADS more fun to come! Yummy.

Okay well. I intended to restart with a bang. Too bad this is so whimpery. But it's served its purpose all the same :] I'm back!
