I'm going for OBS!!! For the SECOND TIME!!!
Yes it's true -- sissy prissy Miss Fusspot volunteered hurrah! Believe me all you cynical bambis -- I'm going to court death in style, chomp on monkeybones and jiggle about in banana leaves, dodge about coconut trees and of course, have an orgy of a time in the wild! Isn't this wonderful? It feels so like Bollywood :]
I can hardly wait!
david letterman
I now know why David Letterman's the highest paid host on tv. I'm suffocating he's so funny! Here's the link!
The Late Show With David Letterman
star wars
He's SO HOT!!!! Too bad he can't act. Return of the Jedi still reigns supreme! Hooray.
Since today was opening day, everybody was on such a high! Expectedly, loads turned up with their lightsabers and Darth Vader masks and Obi-Wan robes :] Too bad I'd rushed straight from school. I think I would've joined in the fun and pulled on my Yoda mask just for the heck of it. It felt like a fancy dress party and we've not had one of those for ages! You know, I still have my flourescent pink tulle skirt and fairy costume from my very first fancy dress party .. I think it's buried under the old taekwondo outfit.
Anyway, go catch it! If only for
his sake :]
ambition and purpose
Sometimes, well most times now, I sit around wondering what I want to be when I grow up. You know, it's so pathetic because I'd never REALLY wanted to be anything. Not ever. Growing up, I assumed I wanted to be a professional something -- a lawyer, a doctor -- typical and unspecial. They were 'good' career options, so I was told at 4, and safe too; the only stuff worth spending your brains on. That's honestly how I ended up aiming for Medicine.
I was very embarassed at a recent interview, where they asked why I chose the Sciences, because an unusual fit of honesty made me pause a long while before delivering the desired scholarship-worthy answer. I didn't have the courage to say that I was stuck with it only because it's Safe or how very much I'd like to drop chem and physics.
To be sure, I'm not at all miserable ... just rather regretful that I didn't feel more passion for what I've chosen to do, or for that matter, my general lack of an Ambition. I've only got a year and a half left to find it for if I don't find it by then, I'll be lost. No direction, no drive, nowhere. All I see now is what I don't want to do, sloth induced by aversion.
Yet I've not stopped believing that God intended me for something. I only wish He'd tell me what.
running
I don't ever remember my dreams. And when I do have one, it's usually in black and white and I'm always running and running and I can't ever run fast enough. Like I've been shoved in booger or something equally snotty and gotten stuck. It's really quite exhilarating though and sometimes, a streak of fear courses through, and I can feel my heart pounding! as I race against whatever I'm running from. At this point, I'm half-aware that I'm dreaming and sort of realize I'm getting knotted up in the sheets, but I just can't haul myself out of it ... It's like an in-between realm, where dream merges with reality, if you know what I mean.
How do these marathons end? Well, I'll usually fall off something lofty and go soaring through space and feel myself spiralling down down down ... never hitting the bottom ever. Amidst the plummeting, I'll wake up! and feel wonderful :]
It's either that or I trip and fall flat on my face and wake up chest-aching on the floor. Urrgh.
